Icelandic processor Isfiskur hf. has purchased new X-ray guided Cutting machine from Valka. With the investment Isfiskur sees an opportunity to increase their production value as well as the plant throughput. The new machine will be used for automatic removal of pin bones and portioning of both haddock and cod fillets.
“We did thorough testing which gave us good indication that the increase in yield and throughput would guarantee quick return of the investment”, says Albert Svavarsson CEO at Isfiskur. “We’ve always made an effort to quickly adapt to new processing technology and make sure that we are competitive as we don’t hold any quota and have to buy all raw material from the market. The new machine will give us an advantage in producing boneless products and overall respond better to what our customers are requesting.”
